Default Pulled tach needle off to clean...Now it doesn't work?

I am selling my car finally and I decided to clean out everything in the car. So I took off the speedometer needle, cleaned it, and it was fine. I then took off the tach needle, cleaned it, and now it won't move. I noticed that there is a spot where the needle gets harder to push. I guess this would normally be around 8 grand, to stop it from going all the way around? Well anyway, I don't want to take my car to any shop, as they all suck, so how can I fix this? Thanks.

best bet would be to get a donor cluster andswap out the tach.

Got to fix your cluster?

If the problem isn't obvious you prolly need to buy new tach gauge. You dont have to get the whole cluster. they are pretty cheap

Well the speedometer works. I pulled it off and everything is all good. What can I do? Anyone fix this problem?

Bite the bullet, go to a junk yard, get a cluster and awap out tachs.

I will, I just need to know how exactly to "swap out the tachs." Everyone keeps telling me to do this, but no one will tell me how. Also can I use a tach from any civic or does it have to be a crx?

Civic tach will work, remove clear plastic cover, turn cluster over, find mounting screws and remove, tach will come right out. Installation is reverse of removal. It is actually pretty easy, you do know how to remove the cluster from the dash I am guessing.
