Default compatibility with illuminas and progress springs.

tried searching numerous times could find the specific setup up, i new to what is TOO stiff or soft for certian shocks.

i'm debating right now on getting a set up tokico illuminas, i have a set of progress springs on my crx with a b16a in it. springs advertise about a 2.3 inch in the front and 2.0 inch in the rear. i was debating on just getting a d2 damper or a tein basics.

i use the car for everyday driving, houston, tx.

only thing i do a lot is straight line racing, of course i love to hit the corners hard everynow and then. i do an occasional autocross here and there. not a lot though.

i just want something that has really good handling and a comfortable yet sporty ride, illuminas sound alright?

or should i start looking for a damper?

thanks in advance.

no shock is going to give you any difference in lowering capability, unless you got some shortened shock modified, which is bucks. but youll be fine as long as you keep half your bumpstop.

extended top hats are always available. illuminas can be modified to be lower in the shock fork as well. it goes without saying, that will void the warranty tho.

you have nothing to worry about the stiffness of the spring. illuminas are a quality shock. the adjustment available will allow you to tune the ride and adjust quickly.

they give you back shock travel, which is (one of) the problem(s) with lowering.
