im planning of throwing some CTR pistons/rings into my JDM B16a block with stock internals and was wondering if they will be a good idea just to upgrade the pistons/rings? also a B16a2 SI head and tran is goin onto this block

 

Yeah it'll work. Not only just get new piston rings, you might as well get new rod bearings.

 

works great! puts you at 11.8 cr. however you have to shave about 1mm of the small side of the rod to get them to fit. also while your in there might as well get new bearings and seals

 

For some reason I could've sworn I heard its not a good idea because of the big dome and valve clearance

 

i donno but i think ima get ITR pistons oversize and bore the block .25mm just because its first gen b16a

 

I think ITRs lower the compression in a B16 (even if they are the PR3 pistons)
