Default Is it worth adding K&N Air to 06 EX sedan Auto?

So Ive heard these increase horsepower and efficiency, is this true or only a marketing tactic. Anyone have any real world opinions of one in a 06 Civic?

Thanks

I have noticed more throttle response on other cars where I have installed a K&N...but I dont think you will notice a thing as far as that goes because of the Drive by Wire (DBW) in the new civice... They do flow more air...plain and simple but you are not going to really notice any difference...

upside: they are lifetime filters...you will never need to buy another,
downside: they are $40+ and thats around 5 regular filters. 5 regular will last you a long long time

BIG DOWNSIDE...It may void warranty...I almost remember reading somewhere that it would for sure...the oil that they use in the K&N can damage the MAF sensor... Infact its rumored that Ford will void warranty if they see one...They strongly recomended that my dad remove his from his 98 explorer...

I use on in my mustang and have had 0 noticable problems with my MAF...and same goes for My contour SVT that I owned, also I had a K&N in a TBIRD SC and did have problems when I re-oiled my filter... it caused some problems with the MAF...but nothin a squirt of electronic connection cleaner didnt take care of...

IMO it wouldnt be worth the risk
