Default Modified OEM 3 layer headgasket

i hear people be taking out the middle headgasket off the OEM 3 layer ones to get higher compression with only two. but what i want to know is, how do you take it out? cuz i notice that there's PINS holding it.

you have to use a small screwdriver or something to remove the pins (not actually pins but round brass looking pieces, right? long time since i've done this). or you could just buy a cometic head gasket

bump for more info. some people say they take out the middle gasket. and the other say the top. which one?

and after you take out the little bronze pins to take out either gasket. you don't replace it with anything? u just leave the HG freely?
