Something I discovered on my AEM CAI...
I was checking the installation manual the other day because I ran out of things to tinker with my car and discovered that my carb number on my AEM didn't match the one listed in the manual for '01 ITRs.
This is just great...I got one with the '97-98 ITRs.

hey b2...
someone on the board a while back posted a direct link to the california emmissions board which had a nice database of "executive order" exempted modifications. the "e.o." number on the site matched the number on my intake. i know cuz i just installed it this weekend. check that site and the number on yours...shouldn't it match??
hope this helps...

b2, good luck...maybe you can get a sticker directly from AEM...aren't they located in hawthorne, ca? i'm sure they'd be willing to do that...
anyhow, here's the link for anyone else who's in a bind and who is in california:
http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/devices.htm
device type is air filter/intake modification
. then do a "ctrl-f" and type in "advanced engine management". scroll a bit down and you should see the eo #'s.
if i'm not mistaken b2, the number on your intake (for 1997/1998 type r) is D-392-4? the eo #'s for the 2000 & 2001 are D-392-11 & D-392-12, respectively.
good luck!

Sorry for going OT, but did ya'll use the stock breather and coolant lines when installing the CAI, or did you put in a breather filter?
InTegRa- Who wonders if he made a mistake when using a breather filter.

AEM is required to register its systems for CARB exemption for every vehicle year regardless of changes to the vehicle. Sometimes, this leads to multiple EO #s for one system. You may have purchased a system that had the old sticker on it, (one without each corresponding EO number for a respective model year). Contact AEM and they will have you fax your receipt to them for verification, then they will send you an updated EO sticker to place on your CAS. (310) 484-2322.
