Default KW variant 2 suspension on EK's ???

Does anyone of you guys have this suspension setup, or know of someone having it?
I'd like to know how it compares to the others, and if anybody knows the spring rates? It's a bit wierd that it's the same part number for EK1,2,3,4 where the EK4 is definetly heavier in the front.

What's your opinion on this suspension setup?

Yes, I am running the KW Variant 3 coilovers. Reason for going with a "german" brand was because I had these on my M3 and I liked the ride. The ride in my civic is pretty damn good, BUT I know could be better if I wasn't so low.

When I opened the box I noticed how huge/fat/thick the shaft/piston (whatever its called) is. Not sure what advantage/disadvantage that has, if any?

These are PROGRESSIVE springs and I am not sure on the "spring rate" The version that are on my civic (variant 3) have 3 different types of adjustments: Hieght, Rebound, and Bump.

I PMed you with the contact info for someone that would be WAY more helpful then me on the actual specs.

Some pics:

Are you sure you've got the V3? This is the picture from their site of the V3 setup
You may have the older system, since i've heard that they have been changing their product line.

Anyway i'd like to know how much of a drop do you have and how would you describe your suspension. Do you track your car, how is it over small bumps on the streets? Did you try adjusting rebound and bump, did it make a noticable difference. A local dealer said that it's wasting money on the V3 setup because you can't really set it up for the street(it's a hassle with the bump and rebound) and that there wont be a real life difference compared to the V2.

Are they using "generic" pics or is that the actual application for the EK? Yes, I have the V3s.
My drop is HUGE and sometimes I bottom out, thats obviously 'cause im so low. No, I don't track my car. Not yet at least. Yea, I have V3s and I don't put them to use but it doesn't matter because I have an "agreement" with KW.

No wonder you bottom out.
I'm not sure about the pic if it's generic or not, good for you that you got a deal going on with KW.

Do you know anyone else that would have the KW suspension on an EK? I'll contact the guy you gave me an e-mail from, but i have the feeling that he a salesman, and it's hard to get usefull tips from those guys.

P.S.
Can you still jack up the car in case you had a puncture?

I don't think he is a salesman. I know he is into hondas, he has an EF that he tracks I think.

Nah, I can't jack it up on flat road... I would have to drive up on a 2x4 or whatever works for you.

Yeah a nice jack is a REAL good thing to have.
FYI: I got a really nice all aluminum(very light and ez to move around) floorjack from harborfreight.com.
was around $129 before shipping,
and it's lowest sattle height is only a bit over 3"!! should be able to get under the lowest of cars.

I highly recommend.

V1's are factory preset to a specific height and damping isn't adjustible, right? Why did you choose V1 instead of the other two options?

I'm also looking arround localy for a jack, that shold be 4" tall at most.

Variant 1 - Height Adjustable
Variant 2 - Height + Damper Adjustable
Variant 3 - Height + Rebound + Bump Adjustable

have u priced these units? i think on a groupbuy here in canada the v3's were somewhere around 3000$

another thing, sure they are 3 way adjustable but i bet about .1% of people on here have the right equipment and knowledge to setup that system properly.

thats why

the v1's are preset to your car. you tell them what car u have and the valving is setup for your cars weight by your dealer..

Not sure on the currency but I know RETAIL on V3s are $1700. I would think people pay around 1500-1600 for the V3s.
