Did I do OK on this purchase?
I have just purchased a 97 ITR with 46K miles on it for 17,200, The car is in great shape with no modifications other than aftermarket racing brake fluid and pads, powdercoated red calipers, and the original owner shaved the factory antenna and moved just a black one like the S2000's to the rear of the roof. The car has no dents, dings, scratches, blemishes or anything. The car comes with all the original purchase items like window sticker, etc. All services have been completed and backed up with great records. Carfax is clean showing 2 owners. So, what do you guys think, did I do ok, or did I pay to much for the car. I have seen some 98's for sale for 16 and even today saw one advertised for 15 firm. Did I pay too much, am I going to lose alot of money on this car if god forbid I have to sell it? Any input you guys have would be much appricated. I have no clue how to post a picture, but I have a few it you guys would like to see the car, just advise me on how to post it and Ill try. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to Texas to look at the 97 ITR that the Old One has for sale. It's supposed to have 27 miles on it and it's been stored since new, complete with all the window stickers still on it. He's asking 20K, but he says the price is negotiable. I plan to offer 18 and see what he says. It could be a killer deal and it'd give me another ITR to keep in new condition.
I'd pay more for a well-kept '97 than I would for my '01 NBP pos...
No offense to all the black ITR owners, but the '97 has always been special to me

I know TOO had his "prototype" SC installed on a 1997 ITR...dont know if it was that one or not. I cant imagine it is. This one had more than 27 miles on it, so if it is....

nope.. but if I win part of "the pot" tomm I will give him $50,000 for it. And no, I wont drive it much. There would be much better plans (IMO) for it.. ITR owners WILL hate me and the FL/NC crew, but we'll enjoy it. (plan involves explosives and a sledgehammer.. and mugen/spoon/etc parts)

actually TOO bought two type R's. One was mod'd with the charger, the other was just put in storage for keeping with a stock setup. The supercharged one is still running.
Here's proof showing TOO's supercharged type R with 1139 or so miles on it. The other one that they own is still brand new.

He said that the first car he bought was the one he used for the blower testing and it's still supercharged. He second car was purchased a month or two later and delivered to him on a transport truck, so it was never driven. Then it was put in storage in his place as a collector car. I plan to go fly there next week to see it and discuss motors.
I think it's funny how people knock on the NBP ITR's... I purposely looked for and bought an NBP. First of all, I know it's not the same thing, but I already had a white integra, so I wanted something visually in a different color, and I absolutely didn't want a "steal-me-yellow," though they are really growing on me. Had a couple opportunities to get a PY one. I also wanted a '00 or '01 just for low miles and being newer (not that it really matters) and the hersay (could be just that) about the B18C5's in the '00-01 vs. the '97-98's.
So though I wouldn't have said "no" to a good deal on a '97, I'm pretty happy with my seems-to-get-dirtier-than-****-NBP ITR.
