one side higher then the other side
I've a problem with my '97 civic hatch. I've been riding on Koni Yellows with lowering springs for years now, but this year I had to replace the Koni's with the stock suspension for two weeks (stupid Belgium law
). I've reinstalled my Koni's and springs but now the car is higher on the passenger side. There is a 0.6" difference between left and right. My first thought was that maybe the car wasn't standing on a flat surface, but I've checked on different places, and it's always the same. I also took apart the shocks again to check if I forgot something, but everything is the same left and right. So what could be the problem? I know some cars have a difference between left and right from the factory out, but my hatch didn’t have this problem before. So? Does anyone know what the problem could be?

First I would make sure that each spring is properly seated inside the upper mount (#8). If a spring was hung up on the lip of the mount, it would make that corner of the car sit higher.
Next I would make sure that #10 part is in place up inside each of the shock upper mounts (#8). It's a rubber spacer that helps absorb road noise. If your missing one, the car will be that much lower on that side.
If neither of those is the case, it is possible the car was never even to begin with. These cars don't have an even weight distribution from side to side, so it could lean in one direction, and you just never noticed before.

since they're Koins, make ure the bottom spring perch is on the same grove on both sides. Also make sure that one perch isn't turned upside down.
thanks guys. 'll check it out as soon as possible.
I can tell you that I used the same parts left and right, maybe it's just the spring that isn't 100% in place.
The Koni's are put on the bottem spring perch. If this wasn't the case, there would be more difference between left and right.

Also, check to make sure that the front shocks are both seated properly into the damper forks. There is a tab on the brake line bracket (attached to the shock) that goes down into the split in the fork where the pinch bolt goes. If this tab is not down inside the split, it can keep the shock from seating all the way down. This will also slightly raise one corner of the car...
i have this prob on my ek4 (runnin koni sports + lower springs), ive searched lots of threads on here about this prob but not 1 has a solution/cause of prob. every thread just says its common and to just deal with it but. hope you find what the prob is
