drift button, anyone know how to install one?
just like the title states, i want to learn how to install a drift button(on my e-brake)! i figure if i install this in my crx, it would make it much easier to preload my clutch at the track! so if you have done this, please chime in! TIA

You do know that's about the dumbest thing I've seen on here in a helluva long time right? It's not going to help you any, and you could have simply taped your button down. But now, you've effectively made your e-brake useless when the car is parked.
BTW, that's not "drifting" in a Honda... that's "dragging". Both are very, VERY homosexual.

but how could you call it dragging button, when it was made for a drifting application! it is what it is, unless you decide to open your own company and make us some dragging buttons

By dragging, I didn't mean "drag racing", I meant it as in "When driving a front wheel drive Honda, the only way poseurs can 'drift' is by DRAGGING their *** ends around a corner."
Make more sense?

Dang Smokey, you can't do nothin but cause problems, can you?
LoL!!!
By the way, in that yellow car we had in Rockingham a while back, we wound up taking apart the ebrake, and drilling a hole in the mechanism, and installing a removable pin that would keep the ebrake from locking when you pulled it. Or you could always safety wire it like we did at the track... hahaha! <shrug>
Long time no see/talk though... been doing alright?

guys, it seems like it would be easier to drill a hole and run a pin through. this would be ideal, since it would only disable the ebrake at the track! john i wish i had noticed on the yellow crx, i been doing ok so far i hope to see you soon if not in october

I wouldent do that. I was just kidding when I said that.
Why dont u just try holding the button down buddy. I do when I go "drifting" in the snow
just get used to it
thenh you dont have to mess with the ebreak

Why would anyone want to "Drift" a corner in a front wheel drive car?
Drive around it retards... you will be faster than the guy drifting. Good suspension and front wheel drive is what gives you the advantage over rear wheel drive cars in the corner. So why would you want to take away your advantage and play into the other person's strengths?
Too much "Too fast too furious" around here sometimes...

Dang guys.... calm down a bit... lol!
He was looking for it to be a staging brake for the drag strip, NOT for drifting... but since the "function" he was looking for is called a "drift button" elsewhere, thats what he is calling it here... it ISNT for drifting in this case.
Smokey... holding the button down, while cheaper and much easier than actually disabling it, is a bit risky if you ask me... cause then when you launch, you have to remember to push it all the way down. We were having this problem with the yellow car... the guy would let it down, but it'd still be engaging, costing him speed... and being all motor, that'd hurt you much worse than it was really hurting him. I'd disable it completley for the track, and enable it for street. The pin we were using is basically a shouldered pin with a cotter on the other side to keep it from going anywhere.

old thread but...
the ebrake is not eliminated at all. yes when u pull up and let go it drops back down to the disengaged state.
but when u pull up, u push the button out with your index finger and it locks just like any other ebrake out there. works the same way, just that the spring isnt engaged once pulled up.
not a bad mod if u are looking for something similar, but to each his own.
