accord issues
i just put on h&r race springs on my accord and the ride is excellent but it raised my car a few inches and i hate it! i wanted to know how much of the spring i can cut before messing up my ride stability. i drive a 91 accord lx( if that helps)
think about what you just said and then come back OK? You replaced old springs with new ones, your ride height increased, you asked why, I answered and then you had to say something stupid.......
Don't even think about cuttin' those prings if the are progressive as that will really mess ur your ride quality...........

well what ever, you're the one that cannot figure out why your car is riding higher even though I have given you the answer already..............but here let me spell it out for you...
springs will sag over time resulting in a lower ride height. I would be willing to bet that if I replaced my springs on my 94 accord LX with the same honda made factory springs that the ride height would go up...
Who knows the quality of the springs on the car or the ride height they were set for. Obviously the new springs are set for a different ride height or the stuff you took off is worn.........

Please, try not to contribute to the ***-factor that is apparent throught this forum. Your springs were 15 years old, and things generally tend to get weaker over time, so think about it...
weak springs create less force to lift the car up, so it sags more and more as they get weaker. You put new springs on that are again, new, so they are going to be much stiffer, thus creating more force that would help raise the car. Simply because they are supposed to be lowering springs does not mean they will always lower your ride.
There are other factors that come into play, such as age and driving habits/conditions faced by the suspension system. On new stock system, yes it will lower it because they are fresh and firm. However, a 15 year old spring is probably nicely worn out, so just think about that for a little bit, maybe that will spark some thoughts. YeuEmMaiMai had some points in there, read and try not to be an ***.
I know you also had coilovers, which I am under the impression that they are far more adjustable and can lower significantly more than normal springs, so there is another factor! What brand coilovers did you have, adjustable or non-adjustable? What were the drop specifications for the coilovers vs. the springs? Enough of my rambling...

were your coilovers dumped beyond belief?
with those springs, your ride height should be about 1-2 finger gaps w/ 15" wheels
why you would spend the moeny pn H&R springs, and then cut them, is beyond belief to me. springs are engineered a specific way. # of coils effects spring rates and other factors.

i had matrix coilovers and i wasnt being an *** he insulted me first, anyway u sound alot more intelligent.ive seen my the h&r springs on other cards and they look more agrssive and sit right above the tire just like i want it, so my question is if i cut the spring 1 and a 1/2 off will that mess up my ride quality, i also have kyb adjustable struts.
I would not suggest cutting the springs, I just do not have a good feeling about it nor have I had good experiances with cutting springs (never cut springs for a car though, so don't hold me to it). Do you know which model springs you have? I have no clue what the drop on H&R springs are... I however, have heard that the Eiback Sportlines will drop you about 2 inches, about the lowest any springs will take you. Also, the dumped thing probably means you had them about as low as they can go... just my guess.
Oh yeah... thanks for the intellegence comment... it's amazing what good grammar and English will do for a 17 year old high school junior

someone had to have tried it before,i see other cars with my same setup and there cars are alot lower, why is that? i honestly dont think 1 1/2 of coil will thrash my ride quality
I havent seen anything about it before, but its your ride, so ultimately you must make the decisions. If you do this, plan on having some kind of backup plan if it doesnt work out quite right. You might want to call some shops and see what they say about it. Good luck with whatever you plan on doing though.
