problem wit the R

well today i went for a drive wit a couple of friends down PCH...well one thing i noticed as i was filling up 1st gear was the vtec did go off till 7500rpm and in 2nd gear kicked in at 6000(normal) then stop again at like 7000ish start up again and stop again....it the car felt like it was chocking in vtec??? anybody know what the cause of this is???

did u check ur oil level?
