Im putting an LS 5th gear in a Civic Si tranny. What parts do I need to do this? I ask in the Type R forum, because I know alot of you guys put LS or GSR 5th in when you do a new FD. I need the main gear, the counter gear...what else? Syncros? My local Acura dealer knows absolutely nothing. They're a bunch of dummies that sell a product and thats it.

Not a final drive change, just 5th gear. Only need 2 pieces to change a gear, and those are the gear itself.

LSD, well that's a different story . . .

you just need the gears for 5th and that's it.

Change final drive, flywheel, clutch, and lsd while you're in there.....

 

I wouldn't go putting an LS 5th in your tranny. I recently did this with my ITR motor/G2 GSR YS1 cable tranny and I hate it. I'm swapping it out for a 01 GSR 5th. It will be a good comprimise. Here's a plot that may help you out....

You will also need a 32mm hex nut for your countershaft, a drain and fill plug washer for your tranny, and 3 quarts of Honda MTF . Best of luck.
