help with my tach
ok i swapped in a b18c1 into my hatch yesterday and everything works perfect except for my tach...everything else in my cluster works fine except for that. i searched and what i found was that i need to mate the blue wire from the dizzy to the chassis harness? i'm really lost here i dont know what i have to do..when i looked at the dizzy it had a blue wire coming from there and from the chassis harness to. do i need to cut them both out from the plugs and tape them together by tisself? i really dont know what to do here any help is appricitated. it sucks having a great swap with no tach
i dont know my rev limit lol TIA
also another thing i find it strange that i have no cels..the motor was a obd2 and i just used a obd1 p72 and i have no cels i didn't wire up vtec or anything i just plugged everything in. is taht supposed to happen or am i supposed to get a cel..when i put the car to on the cel goes on like normal then just turns off..just something that i want to make sure about thanks again

Look inside the distrubuter to see for the negative wire from the coil and just clamp it with the negative wire from the coil or the blue wire from the driver side in the hood near the firewall. There should be a blue wire hanging by it self so just clamp it there that the signal from the ecu.
i think i get it now..when i was pluggin the motor in on the passengers side (or was it drivers) i remember there being a plug that wasn't used..i'm not usre of the colors on it but i know it was 3 wires could it be one of those wires? if so do i cut it off and then just wrap it around with another blue wire from one of the other plugs? i think i just confused mysself again lol
sorry my first reply is wrong I was reading it and I think like you was asking how to wire a tach meter sorry for my first reply. but I going outside and look at my and I will come back and tell you something if I find out.
i plugged in all of them and i remember a plug on the drivers sie not plugged it i heard it was a dummy plug...it was my passenger side that one plug was left unplugged. its a obd2 engine and harness and my car is obd1 maybe i dont have to use that plug. where is the blue wire located on the chassis? is it a solid blue wire or blue with black stripe? do i need to cut it out or pull it out and insert it somehwere else in the plug?
