well, i'm not sure if this is the right forum, but here it goes. i have a '96 (obd2) gsr, and i just got my obd1 p72 ecu. my car runs fine with the obd2 ecu, no funny sounds or noises. when i tried the obd1 ecu with my harness, my car made this funny sound like there was a vacuum leak. i checked my hoses, but couldn't find it. i plugged the obd2 ecu back in, and it runs fine again. i'm wondering if i was supposed to rewire something or do something before i use it?

also, whats the difference between the obd1 and obd2 ecu's? i know that obd1 only uses 1 o2 sensor, and the connectors. anything different with the vacuum? any info/help is appreciated, thx.
