car wont start....thing i bent some valves...check this out
ok so this is like my 3rd post on this and i THINK i found out whats wrong with my car
ok so my engine needed a new TB b/c the one that was on there had a broken "nipple" where one of the vaume lines plug into...so i got one off a ac but had to swap the throttle disc and the spring...i went to start it and it started...but the engine shook badly..and when u gave it gas it would accelerate very slowly...so i turned it off then went to turn it back on and it wouldnt start at all..but it would try to turn over....so i put the old one back on and it STILL wont start...it sounds like its tryin to turn over but jus wont start...so i think when i gave it gas when it started i bent the valves in it....what do u all think....
oh and everything is workin right
1. it has fuel
2. fuel pump works
3. dizzy is fine
4. its gettin spark.
5. all the hoses are hooked up right
what do u guys think is wrong with it?

do a leakdown test
if you have air coming out of the exhaust side of the head or hear air coming out of the TB, chances are valves are bent

what does changing the TB have to do with bent valves?
u say<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by greddy13 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">so i think when i gave it gas when it started i bent the valves in it</TD></TR></TABLE>im not sure what you mean by that can you clarify?
check your cam timing...if it has jumped pretty bad then yeah you might have bent your valves...do a compression test to get a general idea of whats going on...however u can not do a compression test if the cams have jumped..you need to set everything back to TDC before you can do that...if your numbers come back good then u need to start diagnosing and seeing what else could be wrong...if the comp. numbers come back bad, then its time to do a leakdown test to see exactly where its leaking from...
throwing any codes?
