My ride is a 95 accord Dx. 2 weeks ago after driving 1 mile on the way to work, it first slows down and then it dies with the check engine light on at a 4-way stop. And after I pushed it to the side and restart the car, it works just as fine. But after 2 blocks or so, it happened again. I pulled over AGAIN and started the car again, it worked just fine. This happened like 5 times before I could get to work.
Since it had the 'Check Engine light' on, so I got the code from below the glove compartment which is 15. I checked the manual and it says it means 'ignition output' and I went ahead and changed the spark plugs, wires and the distributor cap and rotor. By then, the car had been sitting in the garage for like a week. I drove it for like 40 miles and it's fine. BUT the next morning, the same things happen again. So I'm hoping anyone can tell me what could be wrong with it and what would I have to get to fixed it. I'm thinking to change the distributor housing unit, is it way off? The dealer cahrges $138 just to check. Any help is highly appreciated !!!!!

ur ignition module is most likely toasted...............

 

i have seen a couple codes 15 and it turned out to be a bad coil ...but as stated,, it could also be the ignitor ,,,

 

is there any way to find out if it's the coil or ignitor?

 

Check for power from the ignition switch to the dist. Black/yellow wire

 

the igniter is only 30-50 buck's aftermarket.
