Which engine would YOU like?
15k to drop in after chosing a motor? crap that's a ton of money!!! you could put in a single cam with 15k of upgrades to make a monster haha
I would go with the C5, a lot of people will be saying K series but I like it OG

OK, I think I see where you are going.
Type S gearbox with Kaaz and 4.79 axle ratio, leaving other gears alone.
K20A(*) or K24A2 base, K Pro, the best exhaust and header, custom intake.
That's about all you'd need.
You'd come in under budget, too.
This'll give you about 230 HP on a Dynojet, and gobs of torque at all RPM in all gears.
You'd be able to break the front tyres loose at surprising speeds in unusually high gears, too.
Ask me how I know.

I don't know if it would fit - I doubt it - but I'd take the W-16 from the Bugatti Veyron 16.4. It's got more horsepower than five ITRs. Click on the engine photo to read more about it...

I know this thread has turned into ***** and giggles, but on a serious note Id swap a K motor and mod it with the 15K (Motor+Suspension).
Im hoping you meant of the honda motors that will fit and not a W16 or a Vette motor like a few have said. Although that was pretty F-ing funny.
The K motor has proved itself to be the next step forward for the Honda motor line. Although the B series were fun (and still are), the k is just flatout an improvment across the board. George pretty much hit the nail on the head.
Ohh and George, "How do you know?"

B18C5.
Why not a K-series? Because I hate cable shifters.
I doubt I could spend $15K upgrading it, but lemme try:
I'd have the block sleeved to about 84.5 mm bores, add forged pistons with, say, 11.5:1 compression. Then, just to make some of that money disappear, I'd throw in some Cunningham titanium rods. The stock crank could stay, but since I've still got money to burn I might have it cyrotreated. Now here's where I'd get sneaky. I'd have a custom 4-1 header made to fit under the JDM 4-1 heatshields. It would have bigger primaries and a nice merge collector, so as not to choke the 2.0L.
Up top, I'd have the cylinder head thoroughly worked to match the 84.5 mm bores, larger stainless valves, and ported to work best with the Toda B-spec cams. Add Toda cam gears and valvetrain components. I'd stick with the OEM IM, with a Hondata gasket. For the ECU, a Hondata unit would do nicely. An S200 or S300 maybe. Set the fuel cut for about 8,600 RPM and tune it for a lot of under-the-curve power.
For the finishing touch, a distributorless ignition system would be fitted to keep the timing consistent and the power curve smooth. The rest of the $15K I'd spend on tuning and beer.
The result would be a fairly strong motor, but by no means the most powerful NA B-series possible. But it would run fine on pump gas and have a rather stout constitution.
