boosted d over an h22? Am I crazy?
Im concidering possibly selling my h22 crap and boostin my d. just something about how cheap d series stuff is, its finally sinking into my head. Pretty much I need someone to slap me and tell me to finish my h22 swap. But I dunno, what do you guys think? I think ultimately I would be more happy with the h22. Over all, how do single slammers boosted compare to h22's? Lets say no more than 10lbs on the d and the h22 stock.
Honestly H22 goodness is just secksy.
I would take an H22 civic over a 10 psi (well, depends on turbo
) D anyday.
But I just love the 2.2L.
Oh, and is it even possible to make a H22 in a Civic street legal? I don't think so.
So yeah, do the H22 unless you wanna move to California. My opinion at least.
D = Cheaper, easier to fix, etc.,. It's already in the car, blah blah blah.
H22 = Secksy. LOTS of room to upgrade. Expensive
More illegal than a turbo D

There is nothing better then a boosted d. do it right and you will be in love. o and the fuel mileage is awesome as well
I have had 2 boosted d series and it was a blast for the cost effectiveness and repairability cause of the abundance of parts.

I walked a friend of mine's H22 Civic in my Boosted D at 10psi and lowered compression hard. The lowered compression made a huge difference in how sluggish the car was too, a boosted D on stock Internal and 10 or so psi will destroy an H22.
dont ask us, its basically preference..
a boosted d is cheaper in almost all aspects, and you get a sweet bov
to impress the ladies lol!
but the h22 is prob more reliable (if you leave it stock and dont break 2014392104921 axles) and has more room to upgrade later.
the possiblities are basically endless on both paths
so the search is all pretti in red in the upper right hand corner, i suggest you use it...
both these topics have been beaten to death, read until you eyes start bleeding and then once ur comfortable make your own decision.
i gaurantee youll be happier wiht your EDUCATED decision rathar than someone elses decision on what you should do wiht your car

yes I understand its preference.
Hell yea!
yea I know, thats a given.
And yes, I use the **** outta the search button all the time. Why do u assume I dont? Both topics have been beaten to death eh, ur point? Its not as if I was asking something dumb like "which muffler should I get".

It wasn't found in ANY civics. B16s can be legalized because they were in the Civic Si.
H22s were not. But anyway, it all depends on your cash flow and your goals
I am going boosted D

H22 are not illegal...some members on here have a BAR'd H22 swap in their civics...In which makes it legal to smog it anywhere and pass....
B20s are another story..

you can get the h22 right now, build it. and still have room for boost down the road.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Turbo D series can lay down awesome hp and tq numbers. Enough to run 9's.
Odds are he doesnt want to run 9s. He probably just wants a fast street car.
So why pay for the swap, the build, then the turbo, when you can just pay for the build and the turbo? Thats what I think.

good point... D series are cheap also if anything goes wrong.
i would think the D would be easier on gas alsO?

vtecspeed1320 I had this avatar before you did. Anyways,
*slaps deucedeuceEK* Finish your H22 swap.
After all of the time you spent gathering parts and doing research for an H22 swap, it seems stupid to spend time selling everything off, piecing together a turbo setup, and then boosting it EDIT: "it" meaning the d-series.
If you're having second thoughts now, I GUARANTEE you you'll be halfway through your turbo d project and you'll go for a ride in some h22 hatch or something, and just like that you'll be like, "aww man, I could've had that months ago." Make sure you're not gonna change your mind again as soon as your H22's out the door.
And IMO, I love turbo d, but the point of them is so you can use what came in your car, or at least close (i.e., d15 to d16z6 etc.).

boost requires you to run at least 91 octane... i dunno about the h22's
and a boosted stock motor d can definately be more powerful than a h22 with bolt ons...
check out the dyno's on http://www.turbod16.com
and check my sig

becuase if you wouldve searched enough you wouldve found plenty of information on both of these topics.. and couldve made a decision for yourself. beucase as you agreed this is a preference. so these people are not going to be able to tell you what your preference is.
but you obviously havent gotten enough information and you want a quick solution by making this post that has been posted numerous amounts of times, by numerous amounts of people
im not trying to be a dick, but there is plently of information on this that you can do this without starting another one of these whats better two cams or one threads and having everybody and their mom come in and give you an opinion on it. adding almost no techinical reference to this forum at all.
