Default VIS Carbon Fiber hatch

Just wanted to know if anyone here has any experiance with this hatch. Was thinking of putting one on my car, but kind of want to know a little more about it. I know the benefits are lighter weight and badas looks, but what are the draw back? Can you use normal glass or do you have to use the FAL lexan window? Thanks any info on this would be great.

You can use normal glass with these hatches, but the problem with them is that their price just went through the roof.

I was set and had paid for a hatch from an online vendor, when they came back and told me the price had nearly doubled. I cancelled that order, and then found from several other vendors, that the story was the same.

If you can get away with picking up a CF hatch for less than $800 shipped, you are doing great.

I had one and planned on using it, along with CF hood and CF front lip. I was so excited until I got it..... the CF hatch for DC2's are made for 94-97 teg's with no handle in them, so you have to run the trunk release cable and trunk latch that the 94-97's had very, very gay

If you don't mind that, or you have the older teg then go for it. I just sold mine, along with the hood that fit like crap and the lip that wouldn't look good without the other CF stuff.

You don't have to run a cable or make any other modifications. You will indeed lose the sliding electronic release lever on the hatch, but you can still unlatch it using the rear key hole.
