Default Spark Plug heat?

Alright... I don't know jack about spark plugs!! Thought this would be a good place to start! I searched a little bit, but didn't find much!

Anywho--I'm looking for new spark plugs and the website I found some on has them from heat 6 up to 9.

What's the difference? Obviously one produces more heat than the others, but what's the difference in performance?

I'm looking to mod the hell outta my engine too, it's basically stock at the moment (with the exception of cold air intake and exhaust)... is it worth getting the higher heat spark plugs on a stock engine?

The temperture is referred as HEAT RANGE.

it's like motor oil, get the grade you need for your car, you don't get anything from using the wrong type of oil or in this case different heat range of plugs.

for stock motor, just use the heat range honda recommend.

colder plugs found their way into turbo/supercharged motor and alot of n2o equipped motor

Just use the recommended NGK plugs. ZFR5F-11 (stock #2262)
