tire sizes?
what would be the best tires for 16x7.5 inch wheels ? right now i am running those wheels with 205/55/16 tires and they rub terribly. i have ground controls on stock shocks and i raised them up as far as they could go and they still rub. mainly on the back but some on the front too. i dont know what to do. should i just get 205/45/16? or could i fit a 195/45/16 on these wheels? i want to be able to lower the car back down if at all possible. thanks for all the responses
the little lip that comes off of the fender always rubs the top of my tire. it does now, even with the GCs adjusted all the way up. i know getting a smaller tire will help to not rub, being at the height i am now. but say i want to lower my car back down, so there is no gap between the tire and wheel, would it rub then? i asked about the 195 because i figured it would tuck up inside the wheel well, missing the fender's lip. are 7.5 wide wheels to wide for 195s? thanks a lot

Me too lol... i have no idea why (sarcasm, sorry). Smaller tires and wheels are the answer if you dont want any rubbing. 205/45/16 would be my choice with 16's.

I have 195/60/15's which was a screw up in the first place. But 205's will look better than a 195, notice how mine arent flat along the rim but more rounded...looks gay.
I have a 3.25 inch drop, i had it lower but under hard acceleration my tires were rubbing like mad... and they still do quite a bit. I have adjustable Skunk2 suspension so i can just raise or lower it as i please.
No doubt about it 205/45/16 is what you want... heres a pic of a local dude with a 215/45/16 setup for SCCA autocross (not taking credit, and yes i know he was in import tuner to all those haters reading this)

ok so 205/45/16 is what ill go with, what is your addvice on the rubbing? should i get the rear fenders rolled? or just leave it
I guess it depends on how low you go... ive seen people nearly on the ground not have too many problems. I would get the tires and then see. Good luck
Im leavin rite now to go pick up some new tires... i hate mine more now that i look at them closely. Ill post up picks with my new blades and tires, later.

not much at all considering it is only a size off just makes them a little more flush with the fenders..if you really want them "tucked" go with the 205's also forgot to mention, if its in the budget a new set of performance shocks would do you well, do the tires rub over bumps? could be due to the stock shocks (If I read that right- long day) Tokico HP's might be a good start
oh yea, oi plan on getting some koni yellows to go with the GCs but right know my tires rub on every little bump. do you know how much smaller overall they will be with the 205/45/16 over the 205/55/16?
i have 205/45/16 on my car now.
im on HR sports and when i had 205/50/16 they rubbed at turns and also at good bumps in the road. (rubbign like tire hitting fender)
they were 205.50.16 goodyear eagle f1's
definatley go with 45 series.
