4 Door Type-R Rear Seats in a 2000 Coupe? How to fit??
I'm searched plenty and from my understanding the 4 door type-r rear seats should fit into 99-00 Civic Coupes. Well the ones I have don't seem to wanna fit at all and i'm trying to figure out what those of you who have these did in order to get them to fit?? Please let me know, i'm trying to have the car ready by tomorrow morning for HIN!!! Thanks.

I'll help you out some because I am doing this to my 96 Coupe. First off I got tired of all the mix and match combinations that I read about so I purchased 3 sets of rear seats, JDM ITR 2DR, JDM ITR 4DR and USDM EX Coupe Seats.
My initial plan was to get the fabric from the set of seats that was most similar to my EX Coupe seats. So when I did a comparison of all three I noticed that they all have different shapes and do have to use th 4DR ITR Seats, but with slight modification to the back piece.
The bottom piece is just right with a slight gap on the sides, but it fits better and snug than the 2DR bottom piece. Depending on how picky you are here is where you could go either way. I chose to use the 4DR back piece because it is one-piece where as the 2DR is a two-piece. If you are not picky, have a upholstery shop trim the seats so that they look like your stock coupe seats. Or you could do the same to the 4DR piece but only having to modify and work with one-piece as opposed to two.
Either way the seats have to be modded to fit, like I stated above, neither of the three sets have the same shape and cannot just take the fabric from either and swap onto your coupe seats. But consider this, 4DR ITR seats are rarely sold and are expensive when they come around. 2DR ITR seats are commony found for sale, but require more modifications to fit than the 4DR ITR seats.
Finally last option is to get another set of coupe seats and have them re-upholstered like the ITR Seats. Depending on your location the fabric is very hard to come by and is not cheap. Good luck to you and if you have any other doubts IM me and i'll help as much as I can.

Wow, I am doing the exact same install today, and I am having a pain in the *** time, the 4 door bottom seat doesn't fit in the slots and don't know how to move those hooks that stick out, and the top part seems way too wide to even fit in the car. Also how do you move the hooks to hold the seat back (ones stuck in foam) or is it best to bolt it down some how.

I cut all hooks and metal tabs off the 4DR ITR Seats. The bottom piece fits snug enough to stay in place and after I trim down the bolsters on the back-piece it will fit snug enough too.

Cool, I'm going back outside to cut the tabs off and try it again, did you have to cut the Triangle mounting bracket for the 60/40 stock seats off? or did u leave that?

I cut them all off even the 60/40 on the car itself. Or else it interferes with the placement of the back-piece

Theres pictures of mine. Just cut the bracket used for the flip down feature and modify your quarter panels to the contour of the 4 door back rest. Not that hard.

that's some good info guys...unfortunately i didn't have the time to modify it the way i wanted so i just stuck in the bottom rears and bolted up the harness' and let the backing out...i'll figure it out this week hopefully...thanks for everyones help though!!
it sure does seem like I had to cut a lot of plastic to get the back part to fit. and I think there is still even more that needs some shaving. pain in the *** seat. lol.
Just cut the the quarter panels to the contour of the seat. Thats the easiest thing to do. You might also want to cut off the metal loops which are supposed to lock into the car on the backrest. Might help it fit slighty better.
