What Window Tint was used on the 96 year Accords?
Hopefully someone can answer this. I am getting ready to tint the windows but don't want to go to dark to where it will attract the local constables. I've heard people with factory tint don't get attracted as much so I'm willing to go that route. Although I'm not sure which windows were tinted and what percent they were done at. This is a 2-door car by the way. I know that the rear window and two rear sides are done but not sure about the driver and passenger doors.
Any ideas?

just for the record, any tint in the front, and frontal side(dirver and front passenger side) window is illegal.
not sure how dark is the tint
not sure how dark is the tint
I don't think it's factory tint. The dealer usually gets the tint installed, before selling the car. The dealer will install tint, rear spoiler, mud guards, etc, then just add the cost to the price of the car. The tint shops will know what is legal in your area. Usually around 35% for the front.
Yeah I know that tint on the from windows are illegal but I have seen cars with only a slight tint on them and that seems to surpass ok. I'm not sure if it's just the UV film which I thought was clear but I have noticed even new cars fresh off the lot have the doors slightly tinted. I will ask around......thanx!
The dealer gets the windows tinted by a local tint shop. That way the tint is installed in compliance with local laws. My windows were tinted when I bought my 03. The dealer also installed the rear spoiler. Different states have different laws on how dark the tint can be. So it would be harder to tint them at the factory. Tint that would be legal in one state, would be illegal in another state.
general rule of thumb is that you have to be able to tell the difference between a man and woman by looking thru the window. The only time I know that windows were tinted from the factory is the very rare occasions when the glass installed in the car has the tint mixed in with it. You usually only see that on higher end cars however.....
thats fucked up. the law in missouri is you cant tint your front windows darker than 35% i had 15% all around. it took 5 months to get pulled over lol. but ya. that was an 85$ fine. call your DMV and ask. they will know, or the places licensed to do vehicle inspections.

Again, you aren't supposed to have any tint on those windows.
Normally a police officer has to have a reason to pull you over. If you have any tint on the front side windows, you have just given the police a valid excuse to pull you over at any time and for any reason.

Depends on what state you live in. In Indiana, it's legal...but to a point.

I've got limo tint on my rear windshield and windows, and 13% tint on the front windows. It's enough that you can see in during the day and tell male/female if you're up close (thats about it), but it's pitch black at night. Never been pulled over, cops don't even seem to care (I've stopped right next to them at red lights).

and you point is?
ten people before you already said the samething.
the POINT is that it's illegal in california, whatever law you have over in your state have no bearing in this case.

It all depends on where you live. The law is 35% on the front windows around here, but the laws aren't enforced, so people have limo, and get away with it most of the time.
actually, it IS legal to tint your front windows in california. http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/CA/

My point is that I felt like posting information about my tint in a post about tint on a public forum. My next point is that you don't need to be a ****** about it.

Thanks everyone for the help. I didn't realize that these cars were not originally tinted from the factory as I had previously thought. I'll check around.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
yeah alot of newer car have a factory tint somewere around 70% - 75% sort of a sun screen. Just remember depending on local laws sometimes the factory tint is included in the total darkness allowed.
