Default alternator belt question

my alternator belt was squeeking horribly and i went down and got a napa belt part # 404-0300 "power fit" and it doesn't fit, unless i am trying to put it on wrong. and i looked on napas site and it said to use the 404-0305. should the 404-0300 work or do i have to drive all the way back down there to get the 404-0305? thanks

the belt you have is 5mm shorter than the one it calls for so that could be the problem. also, theres one bolt on the bottom side of the alterator that goes all the way through w/ a nut on the backside, and theres the top one that screws into the alternator, thats it.

you can just find a nut bolt combo that will fit and be able to adjust the belt so the squeel doesnt happen

i think rule of thumb is the belt can only move +/- 1/2 inch

check on majestichonda.com Look for ur car and enter it in the criteria boxes. Look for electrical, click on that and it should have all the alternator parts you can replace. Look on the diagram they provide to locate the bolt, and look in the list what the dimension is. Then just go to a store or the dealershit and buy it. Then git r' done!

tried two different belts, napa powerfit and "drive rite" 305k4 4pk0775 and neither of them fit. so i am just using the one i had on there that squeeks like a bitch, is there any ghetto way to make the squeeking stop for now? i dont have belt conditioner and i cant drive down to advance cuz i have to leave to work in a few. maybe hairspray or something would shut it up?
