Would you swap a K20A2 in your base fully operating RSX?
Just trade the base for a Type-S. Would probably be cheaper and way less hassle in the long-run.
Plus you'll have some resale on the car. No one wants a swapped base.

Depends, if someone is keeping the car for a long time, the swap would be fine, I mean the a2 will bolt right up. On the other hand if someone trades cars a lot or wants simpler install a super charger would seem like the way to go. More torque in traffic lower in the rev band, plus extending the upper revs with k-pro.

you will be much happier with the K24a2 and the 5 speed you have now. We got our last TSX K24a2 for $1700 shipped.

That would be cool -- the K24A2 swap is one path I'm considering for my EP.
For me, since I can't turn an RSX into an EP for a reasonable amount of money & effort (no "true" rear hatch, no dash shifter, etc), it's easier to swap an engine. I can see the logic behind trading a base RSX for a Type-S model, though. No shop work needed, just some cash & paperwork for the trade.

if you were like me and didnt know **** when you bought the rsx and simply thought "oh its only 40 hp". and then months down the road you find you bought the wrong car. you realize you have already lost full value of your car, but you also realize you dont mind having a non-bose stereo or 13-inch rotors or a stock strut tower bar. not to mention you dont have to insure a "type-s".
so i bought a swap for 3100 shipped, (that alone was less than the value lost on a brand new car), and called it a day. i still had my decent radio. i still had my smaller brakes (quicker 1/4 mile times either way).
either way, my vote is yes. a lot of people dont take into account that insurance is more and it might not be "less espensive" to just trade up for a type-s.
