Default koni/GC install help

got my koni yellow and GC in today. Im looking at the sparce directions for the GCs and it shows a "koni adapter" going underneath the sleeves. is that the ring (not the snap ring but the shiny one that fits around the body of the shock) that comes with the konis? It doesn't really look like i need anything since the inside of the sleeze is machined out to fit around the snap ring. I just want to confirm this.

*edit
the car is a 98 GS-R

No. Anything GC is referring to is going to be part of their system. Just make sure thier part has a groove machined in the bottom side of it that covers and swallows the bare Koni circlip in on the Koni shock and youa re in good shape.

yeah thats what i figured, but it was weird because they show an actual part and the directions are model specific.
