Ok heres the deal. got a set of bilstein full coilovers recently and found that the spring rates are much too soft(250f/200r, BLAH!!!!). Custom rates are in order as are revalves for my spring rates...
so.. the only thing I have a problem with is how you proportion wheel/shock travel... meaning if you have 5 inches of total shock travel, where do you want the car to sit at ride height in the stroke. How much up and down travel do you want/need.
The spring rates I have worked out are 450f/600r with a 320/120 front valving, and a 300/100 rear valving. This is on a stripped 91 integra chassis. stock front bar, itr rear bar.
I am using custom top mounts to get the right ride height without sacrificing shock travel, but the front is hard to get right with the reduced body height.
What do you guys think!

if you have 5 inches of travel from full droop to full bottom out/tire hitting something, your gonna want the shock to rest with ~1-1.25 before full droop. that should give you plenty of compression travel and enoung droop to keep the wheel on the ground.
what car is this for? the DA?

of what specifically... the coilovers are from an EG they are on a da.. I am modifying front forks to position the strut closer to the axle and extending the top hats to gain the front travel I want. Right now I have the stock springs...
FYI the EG/dc shocks are longer to begin with then the DA/ef ones.
there is a thread around here with pictures

Bringing this back from the dead... I ended up not being able to use the shortened forks on the front because of upper arm clearance... I ran out of fender clearance before shaft travel. There is a reason why short forks weren't super popular for racy guys!
