Ok peole here si the deal. I am a Marine. I am only 18 but I joined up because it was something that I always wanted to do. I am stationed close to home though. My base will be near San Diego. ok this is it. i learned that sometime in this year or the beginning of next I will get to go to JAPAN for six entire months. I want to build up a car to have here in the states. I think I'm gonna buy a civic hatchback. I plan on putting a Jdm b18c1 in it while I'm still here. I will be going to japan with the intention of getting all JDM parts for my hatch. I want that **** to be TIGHT as HELL. Anyways, what should I buy for my car with a $6000 spending budjet on parts after buying the car and getting the swap. So my question is. WHAT WOULD YOU GET FOR YOU CAR IF YOU WERE IN JAPAN AND HAD $6000 STRICKTLY FOR CAR PARTS. Since I am a Marine I get what I buy shipped here for basically free and I have a full shop on base to use on my car for FREE. what do I do. Thanks for your info. Remember i want tight ****.

thrash the civic idea and get yourself a cheap 240sx, go to Japan then get all the Silvia parts you get, most preferably an entire front clip off a Silvia...ship it home using ofcourse your military privilidges...then viola!! a SR20DET powered 240sx!!! or better yet a Skyline front clip...then viola!!! a RB26DETT powered 240sx!!! great stuff huh! See the thing is there is much more to the worlk than just civics...sorry to burst your bubble but, the 240 is a great platform to start with...with the same amount put in as a b18c powered civic you can have yourself a 200+ turbo powered rear wheel drive car!!! Think about it!!

or the best yet...get an education...this my friend will get you any car you want in the future!!! i have to learn this the hard way

 

go buy an 85-87 corolla gts. parts are abundent there and of course when you come back with all the parts for it from japan you will have a great market to sell to along with the rarity of that.

dont buy a hatch, dont buy a swap.......save that money and the 6Gs, go over to japan and get yourself a Skyline R32 cause yes u can afford a Skyline for 6Gs and us the rest of the money for importing the car, or buy a Silvia S13 or S14 and import that.......but if u have your heart set on a USDM hatch, then jut goto Super Autobacs and youll find EVERYTHING there, oh and hit up the junkyards get headlights, fenders w/ sidemarkers, outer rear tail lenses, Vision corners, guage cluster, clock, audio console, steering wheel........u can get all that stuff from he junkyard for less than a grand garunteed.......then id pick up some Bride Ergos, wheels of your choice, a CWest or Varis kit and/or Tein coilovers OR u can forget about some f that stuff and get a Top Fuel turbo kit........if your goin to the base i think you goin to thers a Super Autobacs about 5 miles from the gate an a junkyard rite outside the gate.........good luck

hey B18C_eg, can you really get a skyline for like 6gs. are you sure. If so I would definately get that becasue driving down the street in a skyline would get me a hell of alot of looks. I think that everyone and there mother would want to race. Are they fast though. Wouldn't my hatch idea give me more speed. I'm all about SPEED+badass style and looks. What do you think man. give me your opinion on both ideas. Hatch or skyline. Thanks man

you can import the skyline using your military transport priviledges...like i said before. A friend of mine imported a full LHD silvia here in the states without any problem...through the military shipment. Since there are 240sx here in the states it made it alot easier...and now that we have skylines that makes things easier for people like YOU to get one and get it shipped here!!! specially when you live somewhere other than CALIFORNIA...emissions there is just as tight as a .......you know but yeah, just forget about the hatch and get something unique...ill tell you this, there is nothing that has NOT been done to a civic before!!!
