Finally on the dark side! Thanks Honda-Tech No 56K
This setup is a direct result of extensive reading and research on Honda-Tech and ClubSi’s boost forum. Thanks guys for all the great information. None of this would be possible without these sites and I want to show my appreciation. It’s nothing special, just your basic low boost kit, but I’m very happy with it. Especially since this is my first attempt at turboing a car.
I’ve been wanting to do forced induction on my Si since I bought it in November of 2000 and last fall I finally was able to buy a kit. I would have bought a kit sooner, but I got married, bought a house, and so on and so fourth. So while I waited, I researched.
Setup:
Greddy 18G kit stock psi
Greddy Type-S BOV
Greddy 1.3 bar radiator cap
NGK BKR7E's gapped @ .032
Treadstone FMIC w/ Greddy IC piping
PCV valve eliminated, crankcase venting routed to Greddy catch can.
RC 440’s
PLX M-300
Stewart Warner Vac/Boost gauge.
Chipped P28
Uberdata for now, will be trying out CROME in the near future.
Resonated test pipe aka eBay “High Flow Cat”.
Apexi WS catback.
Future plans consist of a 2.5 downpipe to replace the stock piece, 2.5” or 3” exhaust, upping the boost to 7-8psi, and getting to a dyno for some numbers.
Onto the pics.

I know it’s not the typical fully built, Full Race, top mount, cutting edge stuff that’s now common these days, but allot of us don’t have huge goals. My goals are pretty mild for the most part. I’m looking to get around 225whp and just have a fun and reliable car.
I started the car for the first time and she fired right up and settled into a steady idle. Checked for oil leaks, none. Drove around the block really easy and parked it. Last weekend I took it out for a street tune. Got a good basemap going but the laptop battery took a crap and I had to stop. Waiting on a new battery. NA map is pretty much spot on and I’m still too rich in boost. 11.5 or so.
I have to say, it’s quite a feeling when the turbo spools and she takes off. This is my first ever turbo project and this is also my first experience in a turbo Honda. I live in a small town in Ohio where there’s only a handful of people with tuner cars.
Thanks again.

Wow, did you do the entire install yourself? That's very clean.
After 6 years you're finally boosted. It's only a matter of months before you're selling your kid off as cheap labor so you can get a bigger setup.

Thanks for the compliments! I'll try to answer questions as best as possible.

Yes, I took my time installing while it was in storage over the winter. A couple of hours here and there. Was in storage for 5 months so I had plenty of time to check and recheck my work.

btw, if you can deal w/ uberdata... you'll love crome (crome pro even more).

The only issues I’m having with Uberdata right now is the now infamous stutter at 10 inHg. I’m using it now because I’m very familiar with it, but I’m planning on trying CROME sometime this summer

CROME definately gets a
from me, and I'm not even using it right now.
At first I was like "WTF mate?" because I couldn't figure out how to get boost in the maps. Finally read the intro thing or whatever and once I get my laptop working it'll be crome all the way.

im running cromepro and i LOVE it. 10 times better than uber. if you are close to y-town and already have a wideband in your car, gimme a holler and ill help you with some cromepro as long as you promise to up the boost
Good luck, it looks great!

Dang 21k miles?
No wonder it's in such good shape, it's barely even broken in! lol
Nice work on the turbo setup. I might be a little nervous about that oil return though, it's hard to tell from the pic.

Your looking at it at an almost vertical angle. The 90 degree bend is pointed upwards just over 30 degrees approx.

replacing your downpipe is going to be huge with that greedy kit, if u go with a 3 inch ur going to see gains near 20whp. Also the stock downpipe isn't great, because it tends to make the car spike with the elbow design
