Honda Transmission Questions
Alright, i confess to be somewhat of a NOOB when it comes to tranny's.. Short of auto/stick, and how to install them, i know nothing...
My question is this, I currently came into a honda cx tranny for free, when i needed it. I was told that the civic cx,dx,and lx, manual tranny's were the same. I did an engine swap at the same time, so i can't entirely tell, if its the engine or tranny. My question, simply. Whats the best D series tranny, and is the current info i have accurate?

this page should be able to help you out, in both identification and knowledge.

So basically the best gearing is coming in the ex/si tranny. The CX is NOT the same as the DX, which i have gathered from driving with it. The gears on the CX are longer than the DX, so, since i can get a D15B JDM tranny for 250, its not a bad upgrade, i will notice a difference in 2nd and 3rd without a doubt. Correct? Ultimately i would like to do a hybrid tranny, but thats further down the line, turbo is my first priority, then tranny, do you think i have my priorities straight?
