I ordered a JDM B16 92-93 XSi Swap from HMO. It it OBD1 and has 170hp where as all others have 160hp.

How can I tell the difference or know that I got the 170hp engine instead of the 160hp engine?

Comes with a YS1 tranny as opposed to a Y1 tranny. Comes with a PR3 ECU as opposed to a PW0 ECU.

 

also if it has the original rocker cover on it. The newer B16A's (B16A2 and B16A3) have DOHC VTEC written in a different way to B16A1's,

The YS1 is non LSD right?

what do u mean by rocker cover?

 

Rocker cover = cover thats on top of your head, must be my New Zealand accent

It comes with optional LSD. It has the shortest stock first gear out of all B-series trannies.

hmmm... valve cover has BIG vtec, spray bars are extruded instead of cast, vtec solenoid is the smaller one... i know those parts can be swapped but you cant do much other than taking off the head to see if you have P30 pistons in there.

 

My '92xsi b16a came with an OBD1 PR3, which is the biggest indicator.

 

it should also have the grey plugs on the wiring harness, instead of the milky white ones. and if you are lucky, the YS1 trans will come with an LSD

 

no unfortunately HMO didn't have any LSD transmissions in stock when i order. I waited 2.5 weeks and still nothing.. so i had to order a non-lsd trans. sucks big time.. but oh well.

obd1. if its obd1+ then its the 170hp and 113tq b16,.
