Vacuum leak. Did this setup ever idle properly or is this a new problem?

check your throttle cable, on top of the bracket, it might be stuck or too tight.

I checked every vac line on the car, i even hooked up a vac. gauge and it read steady at 20hg. vac... i also tried 2 different idle speed motors, and checked the throttle cable to make sure it wasnt stuck open or anything...it still idles at 3 grand.

check the fast idle valve on the manifold. I had the same problem with my ls/vtec. Should take about 15 min. to check. All u need is a 10mm socket and a ratchet. with a flat head screw driver turn clockwise until u cant any more.

Start the car and block the throttle body with your hand. If it still runs, there is a vacuum leak somewhere.
