What seems to be an ignition related problem.
Car is a '90 STD, occasionally the car would cut out a bit and come right out of it. Also, sometimes when it was hot (as in just shut off and turned on), it wouldn't start and give me a CEL, i believe it was a code 16, which it gave to me by 16 short blinks O_o, i found it to be an ignition code. Anyway, yesterday as i was driving, it did the cutting out and it wouldn't come out of it, i limped the car home because it fortionately happened 4 blocks from home. The more throttle i gave it, the more it wanted to die, it ran fine at idle, now it's not wanting to run at all, it started one last time, i tried revving it and it died, now it just cranks with nothing, no CEL either...
I sanded the plugs and inside the dizzy cap, didn't help at all.

code 16 == fuel supply problem doesn't it?

Could also sound like a bad coil, or dizzy in general... or perhaps the ignition switch.... or perhaps ground; most likely main ground...
got spark?
check the timing?
find out what's missing.

I don't remember, i was thinking it was 16, i looked it up to be "ignition" (literally), but that covers alot of stuff. =\ No CEL now, i don't know, was wondering if someone could kind of pin point before i buy expensive stuff that doesn't take care of it...
I'm almost positive it's something in the ignition system that wore out as it was progressively cutting out up to this point...

15?
ignition output signal then?
Easy enough to test. Here:

Problem is that it's no longer throwing any type of code, just did that previously...
I swore it was 16 and i looked it up in my Haynes to be ignition, i'm going to go count again, thing is it was a bunch of short blinks that went to 16 rather than 1 long and 6 short...

mmmmmkay....
so....
ya want someone to pinpoint a problem... you are not sure what code it WAS throwing. You can't take the 2 minutes it will require to follow the link i provided. Check the ignition output in another 5 minutes with a volt meter, and PROBABLY find the problem is in the dizzy... or the stupid 2pin connector in the link provided came loose.
okay then.... good luck with that.
Just go slap on a different dizzy and go see that ****.

Code is no longer stored...expletive it, i'm getting drunk and messing with it tomorrow. I thought the link would only work if it was still throwing the code...
nope, if you test the stupid 2 pin connector for voltage, and there is none... then something in your dizzy is 'expletived' and needs repair or replacement. The codes have little to do with the car functioning... codes are merely one of many ways of diagnosing a problem with a car... and codes are by far very generalized error findings... regardless of codes the tests still work.
Okay, now that i'm sober, i reread what you sent, it says "Is it throwing a CEL?" If i go to no on the diagram, it just says to check for loose wires, which there are none of. =\
Just pretend the answer is yes, and do the rest then. You do sorta have a CEL... not currently... but if the car don't run... pretty safe to assume the check engine light should be on for some reason or other, especially since it was before it died completely.
TTT for ya. Anybody else wanna help him? I'm done.
I'm going to do basic needed maintaince probably tomorrow, cap, rotor, fuel filter. I took the fuel filter out today and it's pretty heavy. I'll go from there if it doesn't start, a friend of mine said his car acted the same way mine is, it was his cap and rotor.
