Default Will my eg d15b7 throw a code for spun rod bearing?

As the title says. I think my rod bearing is on it's way out. Will my ecu tell me or not? I have gotten a couple of cel's but when i turn the car off to check the code it won't come back on. WTF?!?

yeah, code 99 is for a spun rod bearing, NAH, j/k, it wont throw any codes for the rod bearing.

you might get the oil light on if it's really bad (due to lost pressure)

Before i changed my oil my oil light used to pop on for a quick second after start up. I changed my oil and it stopped but i only got about 2 1/2 quarts. After about 2000 miles. I think i let it get too low. I might have messed up my motor because of low oil right?
