Carbon Fiber Scratch!!!!
whuttup guys, i got a scratch on my carbon fiber hood and i wanted to know if there is any way i could remove it or lessen the scracth??? please let me know if there is anything i can do!!!!!
i have not gotten to my camera but i will post later today when i get home from work...any ideas or anyone ever heard of a way to fix scratches on carbon?

sand with 1000 grit sand paper or finer with water on the surface untill the scratch is gond then buff it with buffing compound (you can get compound at most auto stores) if you dont have a buffer then you can do it by hand it just takes longer basicly rub the compound on like car wax and wipe off keep in mind the higher the grit in sand paper the less buffing you have to do

wet sanding only takes out a very small amount of material at a time, like i said befor depending on the savarity of the scratch if the scratch goes through the the clear gel coat and into the carbon fiber itself then you will never get it out but if the scratch is only in the clear coat then it can be sanded out and the shine can be brought back with buffing
