Widest Tire possible
I would say that is going to be a 6.5" rim. I would say 205 safely 225 would probably fit but I wouldn't do it.

So with all this in mind there should be no problem at all putting on 215's, right?
Also does any have pics of anything wider than 205's on stock rims like that?

The difference between a 205 and 215 is about a 1/8inch of rubber, maybe a 1/4inch at most.

And he was talking about a stock rim that's most likely 5.5-6", but I guess you could fit the 235 on there, but that would be pushing it.

I was told by John at M&H Tire that thier 235/60/15 is made for a 6.0" wheel, and for our FWD imports that run low pressures at the track, a 5.5" wheel would be even better.
To be honest, the 235/60/15 is overkill for anyone under 400whp.

TrueNorthStar, you must be speaking about straight-line, 0-camber drag racing right?
The "SI wheel, ls mesh or blades" will all be 6" wheels at the most, and honestly anything bigger than 205 is a total waste of contact patch on them, with the exception of ultra-stiff R-compund autocross slicks....
In fact, you'll be lucky to find a tire professional who will install anything bigger than 205 on a 6" wheel.

Yes I am, the M&H 235/60/15's are a bias ply DOT tire. But they are the widest tire that I know of that will fit on a stock wheel

For autocross, I'm currently running stock SI wheels ('86-87's - a hair wider offset than the 88-91's) with 225/50/14 Hoosier A3S04's up front and 205/50/14's in the rear. I keep the tire pressure around 28-34 psi in front and between 34-40 psi in the rears. On the rears, well, I've rubbed a llitle on the front of the trailing arms, and have definitely rubbed a bit on the front on the inside of the tire into the wheelwell. Mainly from the cornering load, though. For drag, well you could probably get away with 235's, but you just gotta find someone willing to try cramming that on a 5-inch wide rim...
The guys that mounted my tires for me are still referring to me in a highly derogatory manner.
But I'd definitely agree with this:

Without the high HP, well, it'd be alot of useless unsprung rotating mass.

Had my roadrace tires stolen from my CRX last week and all I have left are 7/15 Kosies with 225/50/15 toyo RA1 tires on them, from my Miata turbo. Because its a track only car I can't drive very far on the street, but no rubs yet. The rears hang out of the wheel well and may rub at the track. only time will tell.
With the 45mm offset I would not recommend 225's for a street setup on a stock 88 CRX Si.
