get one of those oil sandwich things that go between the oil filter and the block.....also, JB Weld the crap out of that crack so that it doesn't leak.

JB weld is not the answer. I'd have someone tig that back together. Might have to pull the block and take it to a welder.

eeek....

put the fitting back in and have it Tigged, thats my vote. dont expletive around with JB weld.

imagine this:

you're cruising along, full 3rd gear pull at redline and your "JB weld" decides to let go....there goes all your oil and your motor

this has happened to me and JB weld did not work. my block did not crack no where near as bad as yours. it was a hairline fracture. i used jb weld and not only did the block look like ****, it continued to leak. not a lot but enough for me to notice it and i could not live with it.

Greddy, and Golden eagle both make nice sandwich plates. You can always buy a no name brand off ebay.

1st off, lots of brake clean is your friend, you need to make that area REALLY clean before you try to jbweld it. put the piece back on that broke off, and put a 1/8 npt plug in the hole. THEN jb weld the living f uck out of it. just do a bunch of thin coats, and let the JB dry between each coat. it might take a couple days to get it to where you're confident that u can start it, but it WILL work if you take the time to do it right (can anything REALLY be done right with jbweld?) and if that doesnt work, you can always take out the motor and get it tigged. might as well try the JB 1st.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Mr. Vapor &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">eeek....

and you shut up, you have jbweld on your oil pan

welding it would be the correct way, imo.

either way, jbweld or normal weding, i would want the area super clean. so it would be much easier to just take the block out and do it right.

if there are enough threads letf to use a plug that would be fine.

if you took the intake mani off could you weld it from above while the motor is still installed? That's sucks ***, easy on the aluminum block it's weak as expletive.

Personally I would take the easy way out and JB Weld it...not saying that is the best way though
