welcome to like 7 years ago.. yes it will work.. you can make any turbo work. its all about the mani, and the pipeing. go to homemadeturbo.com. if you are amazed by what your friend said, then yuor going to flip when you see what they do on there..

Is the turbo on the evo the same as the turbo on the GS-T or GSX eclipses?

If not, I'd wonder how the evo turbos would do on civics, probably have a nice haul since the body features are the same (both light weight, oppose to the eclipse which was heavy)

Ah I"m just thinkign out loud ~~ word

EDIT:
OH yeah, sorry about on topic

on topic:
yeah, ur friend is right, just need the right turbo manifold, most piping is standard size (I forgot, but it MIGHT be 2.5 inches, find that out..the rest is all pretty standard 'cept for the whole manifold/turbo/wastegate part..

i put a T25 from a 97 TSI on my LS in my 93 hatch. and it's bad ***. make sure you get the 450cc injectors from the car you get the turbo from, it makes life easyer

if you use an eclipse stock turbo, use one from a first gen eclipse. they can make a little more boost than the second gen.

the evo's have a differnt turbo than the eclipse. the evo III witch had the same 4g63 engine as the eclipse, came with a nice 16g turbo that would work realy well for you. it will cost more to get one, but look on ebay they go pretty cheap. i dont know a hole lot about the new evo's turbos to make an responce on that, but they are different.

you would want to match the turbo to the engine size, not the car weight. your engine is only a 1.6L if you go with too big of a turbo you will have too much lag.

mitsu TD04 14Gis the first gen eclipse turbo, T25 is second gen, and evo is 16G, first gen auto DSM's use a 12G so be careful. the autos also use smaller inj. 390cc.

your not going to get 350hp from just putting a b20 block on your b16 head (crvtec). if you turbo the crvtec you would have a lot more potential for horsepower over your 1.6L block and could reach 350 hp. but just putting the block and head together with some good tuning, you might get 200hp.

check out this link on making your own turbo kit. http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yele....html

I had a 1G eclipse with a 14B turbo (stock turbo) and the car was fast.I was pushing 15psi which is the max for the stock fuel system. But the turbo can run up to 20 psi.The 16G will run u up to 25 psi.Go to dsmtunners.com and they have 14B's for like $200.They are nice litter turbos.

Just get a Garret. The thermal convection waterjacket provides passive cooling at shutdown with no moving parts, so no need for a turbotimer. You can also get 'em with VNT (variable Nozzle Turbo) so they spool quickly, then deploy the vanes to full-open mode for increased breathing. Saves you having to plumb up a twin-turbo system.

Get a complete kit, then you don't have to think about anything other than paying for it. It will look good and clean too.
