What kind of Buddy Club suspension is this?
I contacted Buddy Club USA and they told me it is about 5 years old. They have no idea what kind it is but they said it is from Japan(Obviously). My friend wants to sell it to me for $300. So I'm not sure if I should go for it.
i wouldn't. that rear bushing looks cracked, and since it is so old and BC usa doesn't have any info on them it would be hard to find a replacement

He took it off of his 92 Si Hatch that he just bought.

which means you will need to purchase ITR rear lower control arms for them to work.
tell him you'll take em for 200. and fill the bushing with that liquid poly stuff.
IMO its worth it. shoot, GC's are well over 300 and that would just be a sleeve, so ya might as well roll these for the time being and take a chance, who knows they may be badass and last forever.

as opposed to which buddy club parts that aren't? i was under the impression that the manufacturing processes that they used were relatively unchanged with spings and exhausts coming from modex-alpha in japan and first inc still retaining manufacturing of other parts.

so is that good or bad?

good thing imo...i have the buddy club rsd for my itr, so far so good.
from my understanding from buddy club, first-inc was losing on their different brands...the only one that was profitable was buddy club....so they were bought out and consolidated all of their parts of interest into the buddy club line, that is why cams and engine internals are now under the buddy club name but weren't before(they were branded differently). so pretty much aai bought the rights to buddy club and retained the same manufacturing processes, so their parts are still made in japan. the only part that i question that may be made in taiwan are their new n+ and d1 spec dampers...but even those are sold in japan...just as junior spec...in the end i think it really doesn't matter though, their quality for their recent line of parts has spoken for itself.
at least this is what i understood from my conversation on friday with George over there at buddy club while i was picking up some parts
