I took a parking lot offramp for the first time a little too fast and scratched a piece of paint off the bottom of the front of my car. It's no big deal but i can't stand knowing that i took a chunk off my car, wut can i do to fix it? (it's about 2.5 square inches)

would touchup paint do it?

how much does it cost to replace that part?

Yea just go to the dealership and get some touch up paint. MAKE SURE THE PAINT MATCHES THE COLOR OF YOUR CAR hehe.

 

I wouldnt' worry about it. think of it as charector. i freaked when i got hit by a dead deer at 45 mph. Now i have been rearender, backed into and door dinged and i am beyond the point of caring anymore. i just want to go faster.

 

What! There's supose to be paint under the front lip? J/K I scraped my front lip so many times that there's not a hint of paint under there. Don't worry about it you're just joing to scrach it again. You can hardly see it anyway.

 

It happened to me before. Take a look at the pics below.
First pic: the lip was chipped on the right, pretty visible.
Second pic --- a year later: same car, same track, same corner, but with touch up paint on the lip.

Don't use touch up paint, it will never look right. Only use touch up paint as a projectile towards, say, a car that pulled a hit and run on you. I would repaint the lip entirely if you want it to look stock again. But then again, you can always do a JDM front.

 

Yeah, but this is not a reasonable replacement for a scraped front lip..

 

touch up paint would be a cheap way of getting it fixed, and it would look kinda crappy, but who cares. It may just happen again. If you're willing to dish out the extra cash, take it to a body shop to get painted or order a new lip period.

dont worry about your lip, I´ve scratched mine so many times I lost count, nobody sees under it, when I was looking at how to take my cat conv. out I noticed that the lip and the side skirts werent nice looking underneath

Just sand it smooth and touch it up, it will look fine from 10 feet away! It is probably not the last time you'll ding it either.

FYI, a new lip is between $320 - $350. It comes painted with OEM colors to match your car.

 

I have done it too, my dad had done it on the 1st day!! pissed me off!!
