Is there any reason I can't do this? Will my car even run with this setup? I'm waiting for the TypeOnes to get here, but in about 2 weeks I'm going to have some time where my wives and my scheldule will allow me to not have my car for a few days and not screw us over. I'd like to install my cams, springs, injectors and what not then, but my header won't be here by then. I have hondata with base maps and wouldn't drive the **** out of the car untill I could get it fully tuned anyway.

 

its not like the car's going to blow up, u just wont see the best gains if u choose to keep the stock manifold

BlackR was also running with the stock exhaust for a while. As long as you understand that keeping those OEM components will hurt power output, then you are fine...

If you can't afford to buy a better header and you are doing a Toda B setup, then you are going to have problems.

Yeah I caught that too, but Jason (Fastasknutz) is right I was supposed to get a jdm dc header at the same time I installed the spec b's but Boba Fett never showed up. So I had to run spec b's on stock exhaust manifold (header).

Expect *some* midrange gains, but a loss of peak (~2 whp less than stock cams is what I got...) I'm sure you could tune to see gains everywhere - even with the stock exhaust, but why? It would be better to do the i/h/e first and then do cams... you'll see better gains at each stage, instead of trying to go back get the whp you *should* be getting in the first place...

 

I'm waiting for the TypeOne headers to show up. It has nothing to do with afford, it has to with the things are lost. I wnat to install my cams now because between 2 jobs, a small child and my wive going to class, time is short, and I have a week coming up that my wife doesn't have class before she starts internship, so If I don't get this stuff on now, I won't get it on. I have this stuff laying in my living room, I just don't have that header

Just don't expect to be waxing *** on everyone. Performance will be about like stock.

I was in the same boat. Timing was the hardest thing to co-ordinate.
