integra brakes on my ek
so i wanna do some brake upgrades on my ek. hoping to do some autocrossing this summer and with my b16a i figure i need something better than my stock setup. some buddies of mine told me just get some integra callipers, and get some vented integra rotors and good pads. but i was working on an integra today and it seems to me that they are the same size rotor and same calliper too. so i dunno. what should i do. i guess typeR brakes are bigger right?

Nowhere in this thread have you mentioned what car you have. "EG" and "EK" are nowhere near specific enough. There are 6 different trim levels, 3 different body styles, and 4 possible stock brake system configurations for '92-95 Civics. And that's only in the United States . . .
Now I'm going to ask you again - what car do you have?

dood, first of all, he is trying to help you man. so show him some respect.
anyway, if you want to upgrade your brakes, there are two options.
1) Buy bigger rotors, calipers, and racing pads from a decent brand
2) get ITR or JDM ITR(if you are lucky; much better than USDM since JDM axles are bigger than USDM) or CTR 5 lug brakes with corresponding brake master cylinder.
In my opinion, if you are looking to go race on tracks, get USDM or if possbile, JDM ITR 5 lugs. 5 Lugs are always better than running on 4 lugs with 900kg+ cars. But if you are planning on daily driving and a few runs at autoX, then just rotor upgrades with decent pads would do the trick.
To summarize, if you are planning to upgrade to integra GSR or LS or watever that has 4 lug brakes, don't do it. why would you spend money and waste your time on something you already have? since your hatch is a SI, you must have rear disk brakes correct? so upgrade your rotors, calipers, pads, lines etc.
OR go for 5 lugs!

Does it have ABS?
In the USDM, the '92 EH3 Si hatchback was equipped with 9.5" front rotors and the same dinky calipers found on CX/VX/DX models. Rears were 9.5" solid discs; master cylinder was 13/16".
In '94 only, ABS was added as an option for the USDM EH3-Si. I do not know whether the EH3-Si was offered with ABS as standard or an option in Canada.
'92-95 Civics with ABS used the same rotors (10.3" front / 9.5" rear) and calipers (17CL14VN front) as the '94-01 Integra (all trims except Type-R, which used 11.1" front rotors with 17CL15VN calipers, and 10.2" rear rotors).
So, if you have 10.3" front rotors and the 17CL14VN calipers, then you already have Integra-spec brakes - which is fine for an autocross car, especially on street tires. A good set of pads (Axxis Ultimates are great for autocross/street duty) and fresh fluid are all you need.
