how did you unshave moldings?

Default how did you unshave moldings?

i have shaved moldings on my 89 civic Si and im wondering how guys out there unshaved theirs i liked the look for like a week now i want my Ef moldings back...also where can i get the clips to put it back on....let me know thanx



PLEASE HELP!

grind all that bondo out,,and the holes should still be there..Unless the person welded metal over that.. ?? not sure from the pic..

yea pretty much you have to grind and grind till there is no bondo left...which really sucks..then you have to primer and repaint where you have grinded...then you have to put the moldings back on
i mean you can put them back on but its so much work that its not worth it when there off, unless you already have plans on painting the car...

well to make it easier rather than grinding.. just get a new set of fenders and doors. then all u gotta do u grind out the bondo on the q/p. good luck amigo

eeeeeks honestly I would leave it alone it looks good but if you really want to unshave them i would use a grinder but be careful

I certainly hope they didn't use bondo!!! That's a shitload! (BIG bodyman NO! NO!)

alot of people do..Then 2 month later when it cracks everywhere they regret it ..Im pretty sure though on this car is this thread the person used bondo,,because I saw another pic of it and it looked like globs of filler sanded..

and if you do thin multiply costs it will not crack out
i have shaved many panels for customers and have never had one come back yet, i usually do use bondo on most of the vehicles ive done...its cheap, and if you do it right it will last along time. i will say though that on any vehicle of mine i am going to use duraglass

use a magnet, if it doesnt stick its bondo. Maybe u want to get a small bead blaster for rent. That probally would be the fastest way to get it out
