88 civic trans with a d16y8 will it work>?

Default 88 civic trans with a d16y8 will it work>?

ok i have a 91 si ef hatch the original tranny went out so i picked up a 88 trans the stock 91 clutch does not fit on the 88 trans i bought a 88 clutch and it fits but now my question is will it fit on the single cam vtec d16y8 98 motor????????

You will have to get a 88 clutch for ANY motor you try to put it onto.

The 88 trans will bolt up the the 98 motor, for the 98 (if going into that car) is a hydro car.

As ^^ said...if your putting the y8 in the ef you can use the 88 tranny.If your wanting to put the tranny in a 98 then no because the 98 is hydro and the 88 is cable.

Not to be an @$$, but dont you think after 1100+ posts you should know how to make it easier to understand?! Use some punctuation.

sorry i was in a hurry the guys car was in my front yard. . .problem solved swapped the clutch over to a 88 from a 91 and it worked fine,
