new OEM trailing arm bushing part number? (CRX)
For the life of me I can't find it on the forums. What is the NEW part number for the 89 CRX trailing arm bushing?
Also, where is a good place to buy it? I recall finding it for quite cheap, but the link has evaded me....

i dunno if the 89 crx uses the same bushign as the EG civic, but the newest honda part number (there is no acura number as far as i know) is 52385-s21-003 for DC2 and EG and i found it cheapest at http://www.magauto.com
the older part number is 52385-sr3-000 and costs more.

I'm not sure if it's the same, either, but that part number does look vaguely familiar. Magauto.com is the place I was thinking of! Definitely the best price I've seen. Awesome... hopefully they've got 'em in stock!
Thanks.
Thanks.

anyone know why the newer ones are cheaper than the older part number? just curious</TD></TR></TABLE>
i have no idea. i wish i had a durometer to test them both, but theres got to be a reason why honda put out a new part number to supercede...i'm hoping and assuming they made the compound more durable and hence the newer part number.
what we really need is a durometer testing on the SR3, the S21, and the mugen bushing. I have a feeling the mugen is the same exact thing as the newer S21.

Bringing this up, because I have the newest bushign in hand. I do not have the 52385-sr3-000 in hand, but this bushing as I remember the old one, looks the same. I would be willing to send this, and the 52385-sr3-000 out to have them tested, as this is really odd.
Theres a major price difference, and It doesnt seem like any dealers Ive called have EVER sold this 52385-s21-003
If anyone can contribute, or direct me in the right direction, itd be greatly appreciated

Well, the honda dealership has NO record of the s21 number on ANY service bulletin.
I buy locally, because I pay 10% over cost.
Im questioning why honda has these 2 part numbers, noone has heard of/seen the s21 number, and the sr3 is the only number which they stock/have ever sold

print it out and provide it to your dealer. They should have access to all service export bulletins as well not just the ones on their computer system.

only thing i can gather is that the s21 supercedes the sr3 going by that export bulletin. So the part must be newer and or revised since the older sr3 was devised. Better material, construction, who knows, I certainly dont have the resources to get them durometer tested.

the sound of this bulletin makes it like the sr3 bushing is what was factory, when it in fact was an updated version as well.
maybe im overanalyzing this, and should just stop and be glad its cheaper.

if you look at the original service bulletin from 2000, it lists the sr3 as the replacement part and it lists the sr3 as the failed part being replaced. In this newer 2002 bulletin, it lists sr3 as the failed part and the s21 as the (new) replacement part.

What's really strange is this latest bulletin (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr.../page6&post#63) shows that 52385-SR3-000 is the replacement part# according to the new bulletin So confusing since the earlier bulletin says that 52385-S21-003 is the replacement part#.
But both bulletins say that the 'failed part' is SR3-000 for the Civic so that is common to both. Just the older bulletin says S21-003 is the replacement. So the question is why the new bulletin doesn't.
SR3-003 is just for the CRV not Civic
Mine are cracked up but still holding on. When/if they give up I'll probably just get Hardrace hard rubber RTAs and hopefully it'll last longer than OEM without compromise

That newer bulletin must be erroneous. Why would they advise people to replace the faulty part with the same thing. I used 52385-S21-003 on both my EF8 CR-X and a friend's EF2 Civic, no problems.
