do you get floods where you live? 3"+ of rain at any given time, its better to be safe than sorry i think loosing couple of horse power is better than having to buy a new engine. I got one just so i dont have to worry about taking my intake off when it rains (like this weekend)

I do not have one, and my filter is hidden under the spash shield which is vented. For that thing to get seriously wet I would need water up to my axles, if that is the case I have bigger problems.

You bastards... I drove through three completely unavoidable car-eating "puddles" (at least 3" deep 6 feet across...ish) today.

I wish I could justify getting a cai...maybe I should be looking into a snorkel...

i have one on my AEM, CAI.....kinda regret it...

i have yet to have needed it, and the intake used to make a really mean growling sound on WOT before i instilled it...now it doesnt....and that was honetly the coolest thing about the stupid intake

Frankly I'de just get a SRI... Bypass valve would make you lose the horsepower you'd gain from having a CAI. I have an Injen convertible, and I just pull the cold air extension when it gets nasty out. SRI is better IMO since you don't have to worry about puddles.....Last year we had 2 hydrolocks during the summer, 1 of them had a CAI.

I had an ebay convertible. Before that I had an aem cai and hydrolocked. If you don't go through puddles you should be fine.
