Default new here, need answers to a civic

i found a civic at a local honda shop, (this guy does nothing but work on hondas/integras) it is a 93 primered black civic hatch, 5 spd, d16, manual windows and locks, its got aftermarket headers, no intake (at all not even the stock one, but i can get this easy) and it is lowered a good bit which i like, it has some nice 15" wheels and the guy told me 2400 with the wheels and 2k if i bring my own wheels, i mite can talk him down to 1800 if i bring my own wheels, is this worth it? i really want a hatch to fix up for speed, and they are hard to come across where im from, so any help on if its worth it would be great, thanks guys.

it truly depends on whether its been run hard since the person who drove it before most likely fixed it up because he liked to do fast.......so check it out at a mechanic......if so, then go for it........i have a 1995 civic dx hatch with a full exhaust from headers back including tanabe racing medallion, AEM short ram intake, dc sports sway bar, and rota 15'' lightweights in black, i got this for 2300 with a rebuilt head, its not even vtec, and i love it, its so light that its quick and i beat a 170 hp prelude, they are quick, but how old are you, if your looking for safety, than it is definately not the car to pick, post some detals, mileage, etc.

don't deal with dealerships etc. go private i think, alot cheaper plus you don't have to pay for the taxes etc.

guess it depends on the price range where you live, around here(TN) that seems like a great deal for one that runs. but maybe out west they can be gotten cheaper....... to me seems like a good deal on a car to start working on, cuz most likely you're gonna change everything on it anyway.
