Default My Stock DOHC ZC On 15lbs

This was done on 93 octane pump gas with a stock motor. My tuner and I were talking one night and figured that the compression on the zc is lower then the b16 and Gsr motors so we figured we could tune the motor to 15lbs with a real solid tune. We ended up upping the boost from 10lbs were I made 238whp and 181wtq to 15lbs where I made 278whp and 230wtq. These number are from a dynojet machine. By looking at the graph the power improved everywhere. By 6k I had made a 60whp gain!! Once again I would like to say tuning is key! O yea im running a Td06 17c turbo. My A/F is 11.8-11.5 through out the band.Setup was tuned on Crome pro by Huy Tran of Inline Racing here in Houston, Texas.

Pretty much your looking at 3500 for the whole turbo setup and tune.

damn, spendy. so pretty much, if u have a real good tune, you can run as much boost as you want on a stock block? cuz i thought you could only do 8 pounds on a stock setup, but you proved me wrong.

Tuning doesn't equal unlimited boost, but it's important to have it regardless.

Yea tuning won't let you boost what ever you want, but it makes it safer to run high amounts of boost. Im not really worried about the rods because I compared the rods of a zc and a Ls and the rods on the zc are thicker in everyway. What I am worried about blowing are the rings on the pistons. Well see how it goes.

Ehh doesn't hurt to see what happens. At one point ppl said you couldn't boost a ls safely at 15lbs.

Stock doesn't equate to a DOHC ZC with a turbo slapped on it running 15lbs.

Wow!

Those are some numbers!

Damn, I knew the DOHC ZC had beffy internals, but I didn't think it would make that much power on only 15psi. Those are stock LS number right there.

Nice work

hey boss....do you think a sleeved and built d single vtec cam je rods and piston, w/ ported and polished head along with turbo camshaft from crowler, and crowler springs and retainers would hold 20 psi ?? currently at 8.56 psi crome chipped also with 259 horses. dont know how i got that high with just 8.56psi but the turbo is from greddy and my heads ported and polished with matching intake manifold and exhaust also...but yeah, do you think my turbo will hold 20psi? its a tdo4 14g from greddy. they said it can do 1.9 bars easily...i posted today but no one has responded to my add...maybe you could help.. thanks
