ball joint or control arm?
When refering to camber kits (im dropped about 2.5" with eibach prokit and koni yellows on the lowest perch setting)... would you guys recommend using the ball joint style or going with the control arm style? Ive heard mixed reviews on both and am looking for some solid opinions..
I think you will have to go with control arm style. These generally offer more degrees of variability, especially with a 2.5" drop, you'll probably need it.
use either, the ball joint style works just as well, but i always recommend tack welding them to the control arm in a few spots after installing them (the hole likes to enlongate when pressing the ball joint in, making it not hold tight). i prefer the ingalls setup though to all. stock control arms, stock ball joints, just adjustable mounts. and they are the cheapest
so theres really no advantage to one style or anything? for instance ive heard that ball joint has a tendcy of "bouncing" on speed bumps and bumping into the fender wall...while with the control arm, I want to make sure I have enough adjustability..
2.5" drop isnt that bad, it will change camber only 1.5° or so, maybe a little more. whichever you prefer will work. the ball joints will hit the inner fender on bumps if its lowered a descent amount, i have heard of control arms tearing holes in the strut towers before, and the ingalls i have had on 3 differant cars (2 tegs, 1 civic) and never had a problem.

well, i run 2" drop, and have about 1.8° negative camber w/out any noticable tire wear, but its up to you, differant tires handle negative camber differantly. im bout to go 2.5" drop and use the ingalls to take some camber back out, but overall, if you dont mind getting 80% treadlife rather than 100% out of a set of tires dont worry about them.
